Hi, I don't know why Pages is so difficult and the Help section so worthless. All I want to do is enter consecutive page numbers at the top of my document. The "help" tells you how to enter a single page number, well, duh, thanks for that? Can somebody advise me? Do I have to do it with those tedious headers and footers, which I never use? Mucho thanks,

Hello and welcome.

-Which version of OS X?
-Which version of Pages?

You should be able to edit the header to automatically enter a sequential page number on each page.

Pages 4.3 (Pages '09)
-Menu bar > Insert > Auto Page Numbers...
-Position: Choose Header
-Select a style
-You can also type the word Page or other text before you insert the page number

Pages 5.6.2:
-Move the pointer over the top section of the page to reveal the header
-Click in one of the three section boxes you will see
-Click the Insert Page Number button that appears and pick a style

Hope that helps,
