MAIL problem related to Yahoo

Every few weeks I am unable to use MAIL for the best part of a day which is irritating as a box keeps appearing requesting my Yahoo password. I enter it correctly and then immediately it requests it again. Eventually it seems to clear. This has been happening on and off for two years. I have an iMac with OD 10.7.5.

Hi and Welcome
What i would advise you to do is:
1. Make a new account
2. Reinstall Mail
3. Get the online Version of Yahoo
4. Go to mail preferences and check accounts
5. Get a GMail or other domain email

Thanks for getting back to me. Would you mind clarifying one or two things?

1. Make a new account -does that mean a new Yahoo account? Not sure how to do that and would it mean
a different email address?

2. Presumably re-installing MAIL would not mean the loss of items in the current mail boxes.

3. I typed in Download Yahoo for Mac but my browser only seemed to give links to Yahoo messenger so don't know how to find
new Yahoo version.

1. Yes make a new account. TO do it all you have to do is go to the Yahoo website and create a new one. And that will mean a different email adress.
2. No, but they will have to redownload.
