Key repeat with Mechanical Keyboard

I have turned off key repeat but still my mechanical gaming keyboard (Hama URage illuminated keyboard) is still doing key repeat making it really hard to play games like GMod where you have to hold "Q". All it does is it starts flickering non-stop like if I was repeatedly pressing the "Q" button (hence key repeat)

Keyboards do that by default, at least most do. My Apple wireless doesn't.

Go to system preferences and select the keyboard pane. Slide the key repeat slider all the way to the left to the off position. If need be, you can turn it back on after playing the game.

I did that but it still wont work, I got a friends normal apple keyboard and it works perfectly

You might need a Mac driver for that keyboard.
