IMac key pad loses battery charge daily?

I have to change and charge my key pad batteries every two days, normally lasts for weeks.

-Is the iMac set to sleep?
-Has any liquid been spilled on the keyboard that you know of?

We have found that Apple batteries are the best and they last well.

that said there may also be a problem with the keyboard, but thats hardware and there is not much we can do, except suggest you take it to an AppleCare Service Centre near you.

IMac is frequently put to sleep. I will try shutting it down from now on.
I did change batteries I use so many. Energizer, RayoVac (rechargeable).
No liquids spilled.
Will try Apple batteries? Thanks for your suggestions Ron
