Got a fake ios crash msg while landing on a, I believe, redirected website. It freezes up safari and nothing in the dropdown safari box works; e.g. "Clear history and website data" or "preferences". I see a solution to fix this on iPhones or iPads but not an iMac. Anybody been able to fix this?

Hi Cory, thanks for the welcome. OS X Yosemite v. 10.10.4. I believe I will do that download & install. My research seems to recommend that software as the best for this machine.

Well with safari completely out of the picture, just thinking I'll have to use iPad to download and then transfer with Dropbox or something similar. Which I've never used. Am I heading in the right direction?
