Back up

My iPad tells me that it "has not been backed up for 9 weeks. Back up happens when this iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi". I've done nothing differently to that which I've done over the preceding 12 months or so. Suggestions as to what has happened, and what I should do now will be gratefully received.

Hello and welcome.

Could be a couple of things:

-Check that you iCloud is signed in and set to backup to iCloud.
-Your iCloud storage is full - you only get 5 GB for free.
-Do you have other iOS devices that are backing up to iCloud as well?

Thanks for your reply Cory, but my iPad is both signed in and 'backup' is 'on'. 4-6 GB are available and I'm not aware that any other device is backing up. Any other ideas please?

My iPad has now decided to backup without any further intervention. Sorry Kit but I can offer no solution because no 'solution' has emerged - it"s all a mystery I'm afraid.
