Connecting to Network Storage

Hi,

I have just started using a Mac. I am able to connect to my Media Server share on my mac but it's asking for my password every time even though I am using the same username and password on my mac as I am on my media server. I am also using the same username and password on my windows laptop and it works ok without asking for a password. Is this just somthing the mac will not do?
