Photoshop CS3 unexpectedly quitting on opening

I am having quiting probs with photoshop (CS3). I open it, and it quits unexpectedly straight away. The error says:

This has only happened since I last did a software update. Any ideas?

Hears one possibility to fixing your problem I've come across that worked.

Solution is likely with regards to the TWAIN drivers:

Go to this directory:
Applications>Adobe Photoshop CS2>Plug-Ins>Import/Export>

And rename the TWAIN.plugin to some other name (e.g. ~TWAIN.plugin)

You could try this, boot off a copy of Disc Warrior, and do a directory rebuilt.

Other wise it may be some thing damaged in your OS.

Thanks for your reply - just found a thread over on the Adobe website, and this was a known bug that an OS X software update has 'cured' - something to do with the serial numbers.
