10.3.6 -- Install Or Not?

I've seen some reports here that after 10.3.6 is installed, battery readings
are incorrect (and in fact cause the computer to inappropriately sleep/shut
down). Is this problem widespread? In other words, is it generally safe to
download and install it? (I have a 15" aluminum G4.)

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

This may only be affecting people with Titanium PowerBooks. It doesn't
seem to be wide-spread, but it is hitting some of us.

I've got a 15" TiBook (867MHz) and so far no problems.

Thanks to all who responded, but I'm a bit confused to by this response. What
is the combo updater?

I used the non-combo updater and installed it on a G3 400 MHz iMac.
There are no problems. Of course, I repaired all permissions first.

....until now. I let my TiBook drain out and it decided to snooze before
giving me the "You have 5 minutes left to live" message. To Apple's
credit, though, this is the first time I've ever had an OS X update problem.

You are correct, of course, but after so many problem-free updates you
get lax. Then you get bit, as I and others did.

OOOH. Not true. 10.2.8 was a disaster and was quickly withdrawn.

I'm not sure what the problem was, though, as my pismo installed and ran it
just fine.

I've got a 13" PowerBook which is experiencing the problem.

I said that this was the first time *I* had problems. X.2.8 is up there
on the list, like 7.5.4 and 6.0.1, but I never touched them. FTR my base
system is X.2.8.
