Setting up wireless network

Hi,
I have a mac mini with built in airport extreme. I want to set up a wireless network. I have comcast cable high speed. Do I have to use a router or does airport serve as the "router"?

An Airport is kinda like a wireless switch, it can send data to a pc, but it has NO routing ability, so you need something with DHCP, and all the other neat little router-ish stuff and things...

hunh... should have thought that sentence through a little more, oh well, I'm sure you get the picture. Long story short, yes you do need a router of some form.
