Hello,

I was given a PowerPC G4 867Mhz, 2MB L3 Cache with 1.12 GB SDram, running Mac OSX version 10.3.9 by a friend a few years ago (Due to him upgrading). I've just started playing around with it, and am currently trying to get it to boot from a CD, but in 'Startup Disk' the CD/DVD drive is not available. I have trawled around the internet for a good while looking for an answer, to no avail! So i come here to ask you good people.

I have tried the startup keys such as holding the option key during reboot, and holding c, etc...but none of those seem to work. Any help would be muchly appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi,
Try holding down 'c' at startup, it tells the computer to boot from CD.
