connect macbook pro to tv

Im trying to see a film through vlc on my macbook pro to my new samsung LE40A455. Im using dvi adapter and a hdmi cable. I can see my backround picture but not the vlc film. what do I do? :smile:

Hi there and welcome !

Goto System preferences-->Hardware Displays and click on mirror displays in the bottom corner...
