Hullo

I have a Mac 10.5.5.

Some gif images relating to software on my computer which were in the images folder on my Mac has been stupidly moved to the trash.

No matter how I try, I have been unable to reinstate them in the images folder. They seem to be stuck in the Trash folder.

Be so grateful if somebody could provide a step by step method to reinstate the gif images into the images folder.

My frustration is doing my head in

thank you

regards

Sue

No there is no error message.

I have also dragged a gif image from my trash folder onto my desktop and endeavored to drag it back into my images folder. No go - once I let go of the mouse if just bounces back to the desktop.

I checked info and security permissions- seems no problem there says
I have "Read and Write Privileges."

regards

Hello creativepro & welcome to the forums

Try Repairing Permissions in Disc Utility (Applications ~> Utilities ~> Disc Utility) ... click on the First Aid Tab and highlight the indented volume in the left column, then click the Repair button.

See if that makes any changes to this issue

I ran repair permissions this was the report:

This is the report:

Permissions differ on "private/var/log/secure.log, should be -rw----they are-rw-r-----
warning: SUID file"system/Library/CoreServices/Finder.appContents? Resources/OwnerGroupTool" ha......

Warning: SUID file " usr/bin/lppasswd" has ben modified and will not be repaired.

Group differs on "private/etc/cups". should be O, group is 26.
Permissions differ on "private/var/spool/cups/cache/rss,should be drwxr-xr-x, they are drwxrwxr-x.

This information above I have typed verbatim.
Are you aware what this means?

Did not fix the issue in reinstating the gif images to image folder

Have you any other ideas to solve my problem?

regards

Sue

Hi Sue,

I have about 15 minutes spare if you would like me to have a look?

Do you have iChat setup ?

If so add me in as a buddy...and then click on my name and select share screen...

(E-Mail Removed)

I once had iChat set-up some years ago. I have added you as a buddy. Unfortunately I am not very techno savvy.

What has come up from iChat Connection Alert -
"Could not connect to jabber . "
Could not connect to host mac.com"

regards
