Clipboard Pasting app?

Anyone know if there's an app or system extension that will allow the OS
to hold a list of clipboard items in memory that you need
often--something like the auto-fill memory in a browser, or maybe a
pulldown list, only system-wide for the paste function?

This would come in handy for credit card numbers and the like for
example, where fields don't recognize auto-fill items.

Knowing Apple, seems like they would've already implemented this into
the OS. Or maybe it is, and I'm missing something.

Thanks,
Rog

Looks like PTHPasteboard is what I was looking for; freeware too. Looks
like there's something called CopyPaste too. Anybody have any
experience with these?

Not exactly using the clipboard, but quite good at that:

If you dig deep enough into the Cocoa text system there's a way to
insert snippets via shortcuts...

I have been using PTHPasteboard (the freeware version) for years with
satisfaction. Upgrades have cured it of sluggishness in manually setting
the sequence of its 50 stored items.

Thanks. How do you deal with the window? It seems stuck at the front,
and the close and minimize buttons are greyed.

Not in the most obvious place.

Open the preference pane, go to the Pasteboards tab, and choose a
convenient Autoshow Window option

I liked CopyPaste but ultimately moved to PTHPasteboard, because I felt
it was more straightforward.

CopyPaste costs, PTHPasteboard is free. CopyPaste has a *lot* more
functionality than PTHPasteboard, which only has the facility for
multiple clipboards (including permanent ones), but I never used the
extra power,

Try both and see which you prefer.
