duplicated desktop?? HELP

I am having problems setting up a watched folder in Acrobat Distiller(professional 8.1.0) due to a duplicate desktop within my personal folder (the one with a house icon

) Can anyone help please. I do not want to ditch the duplicate desktop for obvious reasons but want to get rid of it. Any suggestions please. i am operating system 10.4.11
