I'm sure this is a very basic question - and I should know the answer, but can I upgrade my Strawberry iMac currently running OS9.2.2 to any version of OSX?

If it's a 266/333MHz G3 Strawberry iMac (Machine ID: iMac,1), the highest listed version of OS X is 10.3.9 (Panther).

Hi there and welcome !

Yes you can ! I will have to check but you can run Jaguar or Panther (latest version 10.3.x), but not the latest, Tiger ! (you can put Tiger on it, bit it takes a bit of hacking)

You will need to make sure that the firmware on the iMac is up to date...

How much RAM have you got ? All versions of OS X like plenty !

yes i know its a month old but why not ?
as long as it has a G3 and built in usb it wil run jaguar and panther fine
just make sure you have a reaosnbly big hd and at least 256 mb of ram more is always better
128 mb is the absolut eminimum
and for less OS X wont even wake up

its sluggish on anything less then a G3 400 mhz but doable
stick with jag on older imacs
