10.2.8 iMac wireless advice required please...

Hello there!

I am need of some advice. I have an old imac version 10.2.8 and am moving house on Friday into a house where there is Tiscali wireless interent available. The wireless router is made by Netgear.
What I want to know (as I have been very badly advised on too many occasions now) is how can I pick up the wireless signal in the house without having to hard wire it to the actual router. I have told to purchase usb's and access point equipment and download drivers etc which either do not work or are not for version 10.2.8.

I have been suggested to buy an airport card to go into the computer itself!! I am I have to say very 'green' at this and just want to know what information I need to provide and be up and running once I move to the house.

Can somebody please advise and assist me as soon as possible. I am very grateful for your time and help, any further information required please do ask.

Can you tell me the model iMac you have? Is it a G4 or G5? Just go to Apple Menu -> About This Mac

it is a g3 processor 700mhz memory 1024mb
