I want to get rid of bootcamp from my mac, not a fan anymore, it's really been dragging my mac down. Maybe I did it wrong, either way I don't have use for the Windows side anymore, I want just a Mac again. I can't reboot with the disk, my mac will not restart properly. I tried to get rid of bootcamp without reinstalling with the disc. I did this by using bootcamp assistant. When I try to open bootcamp assistant it get a window that says "you need an updated version of boot ROM firmwire." I tried to update it and it says its updated, I went to the apple website and found out that my version is the most updated version for my series. So now i'm in a jam, I can't just reboot with the disc, and I can't take bootcamp off. Any ideas?
These are my computers specs, if it helps:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Speed: 2.66GHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP53.00AC.B03
SMC Version: 1.48f2

Thank you so much

The only thing I can think of is Target Disk Mode and reformatting from another Mac.

You are not alone, this process is a nightmare...
