Since os x makes copies of all the mp3 files i open with iTunes, i want to make an automator action that will add .mp3 files from a folder into the iTunes library, then delete the file, just so I won't have duplicates.

I'd also like to do this for iPhoto and the folder i dump my pictures into.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

first one iPhoto import...

Open Automator and drag in a "Import Photos into iPhoto"

Click on the delete source checkbox...

as below...

Then create a folder on your Desktop called something like "Import Photo's"

Then back in Automator do a save as "Folder Attachment Plugin" and attach it to that folder.

Now when ever you drag pictures into that folder they will get added iPhoto and then the original files will be deleted.

regards

Ric

Hi,

second one iTunes import...

Open Automator and drag in a "Import Audio File"

Click on the delete source checkbox...

as below...

Then create a folder on your Desktop called something like "Import Tunes"

Then back in Automator do a save as "Folder Attachment Plugin" and attach it to that folder.

Now when ever you drag Audio files into that folder they will get added iTunes and then the original files will be deleted.
