Hi Paul,

Best guess, without seeing it would be hardware !!

If you have the original Mac OS Disks that came with it, boot up from one and have a look at the screen, this will rule out software, if the screen is okay whilst booting up from the OS install cd's then you will have to do a Software reload...

...but like I said earlier I would imagine that this is hardware, is there a story to the screen getting a stripe...or did it just 'happen', was it dropped ?

regards

Ric

Hi Ric

Not sure of the history of the machine, but I already tried to reinstall os 9 from my original disks. So I guess your right and it a hardware problem.

Thanks

Paul
Hi Paul,

Could be a number of things wrong with it !

New Screen $199.99

Display Cable $49.99 (loose cable ?)

You could try the Apple Hardware Test CD/DVD that may throw some light onto it.

If not then it might need a trip to your local Apple Store !

As I say could just be a loose cable !

regards

Ric

Left or right side?

May just be the connector cable...they do tend to get brittle and "break".
