need some help

Hi all , just turned on my mac and is stuck on a gray srceen , have tryed in start in safe mode but it keep saying could not open file mach_kernel and have tryed intall disc and gone to utilitys and repaired it with no folts i at a loos can anyone help .
ps sorry for the bad spelling

Thats a reinstall from the DVD, try a install in place.
