Lost Audio

Hi Machelpers,
have a 2011 macbook pro and suddenly I have lost any audio. When I try to turn up the audio volume, a 0 with a line through it symbol appears (like the no smoking circle with a line thru). I have no idea how this has occurred and can only wonder if my kids have done something but even that seems unlikely - any suggestions? Thanks in advance, GoPies

Firstly try a full shutdown and restart.

If this doesn't clear it the get it back to an Apple Service Centre, as you may still be under AppleCare.

Also if you have other people using your computer then you should not be running in and Admin Account! Then there would be no concern about them accidentally breaking something.
