Don't forget iPhoto has its own Trash that requires Emptying.

I use Grand Perspective

Using the method found here enable/disable the showing of hidden files in Finder and make sure there isn't something there you weren't aware of. I found a 6GB iMovie project sitting hidden on my desktop and can't for the life of me account for it being hidden. FWIW, iMovie also has it's own Trash so check that too if you've been using it. Be careful what you remove and ask first if not sure as those files are hidden for a purpose.
