No sound

When I have the apple tv plugged into my downstairs tv I can hear the previews from apple tv but not any sound when I play the actual movie. Why????????

I have checked all the hdmi inputs, use it with and without the surrsound, everything. If I get sound with previews and in netflix how can I not get sound with the actual movie in apple tv?

When I use this upstairs on the other tv, it works fine. WTF?
