How can I upgrade IE5 To IE6 on an Imac running9.2,500 MGH,256 Ram

I have a friend w/ an Imac running 9.2.He is not happy w/ OSX.His browser is too slow.Any ideas appreciated.Thanks.

You can't upgrade to IE 6 on a Mac...the last official release was 5.2.3 for OS X and 5.1.7 for OS 9.

Try using Netscape 7.0.2 in OS 9. Much more stable and faster than IE in OS 9.

A big boost would be to max the RAM to 1GB. If they didn't like OS X on that Mac because of slowness, it's due to only having 256MB of RAM.

IE is terrible on oSX IMHO. Has he tried using Safari as his web browser? Cory's comment about the RAM is spot on too.

IE is terrible period
go for icab mozilla or firefox
that friend soone ror later wil have to jump ship to X though
os9 is ( thankfully) dying
