new cd/dvd rw

Hello, Ineed to replace my internal cd/dvd drive, All of the drives I have seen do not mention MAC they only come with windows software,
do I need a MAC specific cd/dvd or will any other drive work?

Have you thought of buying an external firewire DVD rewriter drive?

I got an external DVD writer connected via firewire on my iMac G5 and I did not have any issues with it at all. I used it with a program I previously purchased called dragon burn.

What version of OS are you running?

I agree with Kyomii...I would invest in an external FW drive. I have two external FW CD/DVD drives here to prove it!

It can always be moved to a new computer when you upgrade.

I am trying to run Tiger 10.4 progress is slow, I suppose it,s because I am used to PCs, I am collecting an internal writer today from a local repairer I dont know what it is yet but I will let you know what and how it performs
