So I was in the process of partitioning my MacBook Pro and it unexpectedly froze when I switched to another application (It was about 3/4 of the way finished). After waiting 10 minutes I manually restarted it. After logging back in, everything is fine except that the 80 gigs I had allotted to the partition were no longer available. In addition, the partition is not visible either in Boot Camp or in my Disk Utility. What do?

Backup everything! Now!

Try making a small partition and see if that returns the space. Other than that its reformat and Migrate back in.

Thanks! I already have everything on an external, so no worries there. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything clicks back to normal!

Well, it's not letting me create a new partition. Specifically, it said:

This disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved.

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a Single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.

So looks like a reformatting after all. Thanks for the help all the same!
