I have d-loaded and installed the driver for my printer (Canon MF4100) from Canon's website. I can get my Mac to see the printer on the network. When I open a document and print it, the document appears to print but nothing ever comes out of the printer and I get no error message. From what I can see, the computer thinks it has printed the document but it has not done so. Any ideas? I have no problems printing wirelessly from my Windows laptop. Thanks!

You've added the printer in System Preferences > Print and Fax ?

If so, then try deleting it and adding it again.

Yep, added it with no problems but went ahead and deleted it, restarted, and added it again. Also went out and dloaded the driver and did all software updates. Installed the driver again, restarted and tried to print. At least this time I did get an error message. It said: Canon UFR II Printer Driver An error occurred.:-50. Any ideas?

Yeah, there were some issues there and I fixed them using the utility, restarted, and tried to print again. Still got the same error. I can see the Windows PC on my network and can even access the shared files... just cant seem to print. Other ideas?

Ahh??? are you saying that the printer isn't a network printer, as in plugged directly to the network via an ethernet cable, but a shared printer being shared via a Windows computer?

Well.... that is something that I had not considered. Upon further inspection, the printer is connected to a Windows PC and shared via that connection. It is NOT connected to the network and it does not look like the printer has a network card (i.e. no place to connect an ethernet cable.) I suppose this creates a bit of a problem, no?

Yep, I'm not sure Windows will just share its printer with a Mac. I've never done this, see if someone else can shed some light.
