iMovie - Importing issues.

Hi guys,

I'm still at school and we're doing our Media Studies coursework on Apple Mac desktops. We're using iMovie but I'm used to my PC and Movie Maker and we've run into some issues with importing footage.

We used the Macs last year without any trouble but now it's all gone wrong

Our camera uses an SD Card to record so we tried the school's SD Card Reader to import the footage but it seemed to be in the wrong format. To check, we used my own personal card reader as well. I googled the situation and a lot of users seem to have this problem and it was solved by importing directly from the camera. We tried this today and it still failed to work. We've contacted the ICT department but no reply so far.

I have no idea what version of iMovie it is by the way, sorry. Any suggestions though?

You can see that the Import Button is enabled, click it...
