Moving iPod from PC to Mac

Hi - a little new to macs, so please be patient.....

I have an iPod which was previoulsey paired up with my XP PC, so I am guessing that my iPod is formated for PC. Now I have seen the light and brought an iMac MA200, running OS X Tiger....bet you can guess were this is going.......

So now I have my music on my old (cr*ppy) PC, an iPod formatted to PC, and a brand spanking new gorgeous iMac - is there anyone out there who can tell me how to move my music from either PC or my iPod onto the iMac and reformat the iPod so it works with a machine it was always designed too........

I have seen a few threads here that talk about iPodCopy and other utilities, but they seem to be for moving from Mac to Mac......but then I may be missing the point

If you've genuinely bought the songs from iTunes Store to your iPod, you should be able to transfer purchases without any problems, as long as you authorize your new computer with the same iTunes account that you bought your songs with.
