Mac Mini only 2 mouse speeds?

So i have a mac mini and it being my first mac i have only one complaint. It seems that the mouse has only two movement speeds? Like when moving across the screen it can either be full tilt or when moving super slow its a certain speed but when u speed ur hand movement up a little bit more its still the same speed.

Unlike one my PC's where the faster you move ur hand the faster it goes like wise with how slow u go. Same with my linux machines they all seem fine.

I have moved my mouse options all the way to the right for the fastest it will go and it still seems very weird to me with this two speed thing. Is there any way to get rid of this? Is there anyone out there with the same problem or is it just my mac or is it just a mac mini thing?

my specs are:

Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
Proc 2.4 GHZ Core 2 DUO
4GB 1067 DDR3

Any Help?

Not sure how you're measuring this, but my measurement give my mouse a varied speed. I wonder if having it set to the fastest is make the difference more pronounced.

I run my Tracking at 2 notches less than Fast, and have 27" and 20" secondary so I have 40" horizontal. No worries here with speed, accuracy or access. I drew marks on a mouse mat and tested the spans, the mouse distance travelled varied with the speed.
