Hi,

I am trying to help a friend out with his MacBook. When in single user mode i can type spaces, however whilst in any apps the spacebar works fine. I am stumped with this one. Any one have any ideas??

Max OS X 10.5.6

Cheers,

What? "Single User Mode" Safe Mode?

If it works in safe mode and not in the Standard Account, make a New Admin User Account so there is no need to use safe mode, then see if it still has a problem there?

The problem is, he has forgotten his admin password, so i am doing the "New Admin Account" via holding command + S at start up and deleting the setup file. It is about a year old so he has lost his start up disks.

It loads up and when i try to start typing the prompts i cant type a space, all other keys work but space... confusing...
