Final Cut Pro X Timeline won't export.

No matter how much I change on the project timeline, when I export the project, it ends up as an earlier version. What do I have to do to convince the program to acknowledge the changes I make. If i close and reopen FCPX, the timeline retains changes, but they won't export....
