Blue split screens

I'll be working on something (anything, word, iTunes, iPhoto, the internet) and the screen goes blue, small, and goes into the corners of the monitor. Multiple screens are in different corners. If I don't have multiple screens open, then it splits to the screensaver. I spend half my time on the computer chasing the screen. Any ideas as to why this happens and how I can stop it. Sometimes, it just goes blue but doesn't split.
