Hi,

I'm new to Mac.

On my PC I transferred my documents folder to an external hard drive. almost all these folders are Word docs. I alos have Word 2011 on my mac.
I plugged in the external hard drive to my Mac and it read "My document.inc" What is inc?
And i could not open any of them of even the folder.
Thanks. any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what the .inc extension means, but its not the Folder.

Try dragging the individual Documents that you want to move onto the external drive, not the enclosing Folder.

Thank you.

I have discovered that it is my back up drive, which is a Free Agent GoFlex. the first one i had died. and now this one doesn't let me open files.

I am using little flash drives to move things over and they work fine.

thanks,
