Hi all! I'm not sure what happened, but I'm hoping I can get some direction in this forum. Here's what's going on.

A few months ago I was having problems with my mouse pad jumping. I thought that maybe it stemmed from something I had downloaded, so I installed something called MacScan 2. The scan didn't detect anything extreme, and I went on using as normal. After a few days the pad stopped it's erratic behavior and all was well.

Eventually I performed a software update, still no problems. I printed something on Aug 14, still no problems. On Aug 15th, I tried to print and couldn't and I realized that every single file and application on my computer has a "Date Modified" on 7/31/2011. ?????

I tried to change the time and date, and it is accurate... but still the system is assigning 7/31/2011 to everything. The printer error message is "There is a problem communicating with the printer." Try as I might, I can't find out what the problem is but I think it has something to do with the reason why the system date is 7/31/2011. Help!

Installing MacScan was a bad idea. Its stuffing up your system.
