I have mistakenly deleted the pre-installed Applications stack from the dock. Can anyone advise how to get it back.

Drag and drop your Applications Folder to the Dock.

That sounds simple and i know it should be. This is embarassing to ask, but where can i find the Applications folder? I can see it in under 'Places' in 'Finder', but can't seem to drag and drop from there!
