My Mac has been running horribly slowly every time I access my browser; ANY browser for the past few weeks. Is there a program available that will clean out temp files, similar to CCleaner for PCs? Or don't Macs save that kind of junk? After more than ten years as a PC user, I'm having trouble getting used to the maintenance end of a Mac. Any solid help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Under the Safari Menu there is Empty Cache...

It is more likely to be a DNS problem, ensure you have access to the fastest DNS servers, i.e. not google.

It may also be a IP 6 issue where there is a IP 4 only switch between you and the rest of the Internet.

but start with the first 2 options first.

Yes, I have emptied the cache, and that has helped a good bit. I have no idea what you're talking about with the DNS or IP6 and IP4. LOL English, please! I have cable access through Verizon's FIOS; I don't normally use google.

Thank you, Kaveman. : ) I would love to have a Mac version of CCleaner, but I guess Empty Cache
will have to do for now. I'd love to have a Mac version of Web Ferret too, but no such luck. And AVG, and a few other "toys" I had on my PC. But I'm not willing to put Windows on my Mac ever again just to get those programs; it's not worth the risk.

Not sure what these are, but to clear out your Cache's you can just open your ~/Library/Caches Folder and delete the ones you don't want.

But caches are there for a reason, they don't slow things down they speed this up.
