Now after five appearances, she gets the Callaway Diablo EDGE Fairway Wood ultimate accolade as captain in the footsteps of Scot Dale Reid, who steered Europe to victory at Loch Lomond in 2000.

The 35-year-old from Gothenburg, who has done much to lift the Discount Golf attraction of women's golf with her stylish, colourful clothing and film star looks, was delighted to accept the invitation.

"It came as a surprise when but this will definitely be the pinnacle of my career," said Catrin, who has won twice on the Callaway FT-iZ Fairway Wood Evian Ladies European Tour. "It's a fantastic honour to captain your continent and being in my home country makes it extra special."
