Invisible emails in Entourage 2008 for Mac

Hi, I'm running Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, version 12.1.3

According to the inbox I've got 16 unread messages but non of them are visible.
New messages come in OK and are visible but I can't see the others.

I've rebuilt the data file as normal and as advanced. No joy.

Any help appreciated.
