BlueTooth on IPhone OS 3.0

Hello NG

What are the documents I should read if I want to program a app that
uses bluetooth as main port.
Is that still impossible with the SDK. Do I have to use the tool chain
to get access to bluetooth?
Where is the best point to start?

Thanx Florian

Not sure what you mean by 'main port', but start here:

e.html>

tooth/BT_Intro/BT_Intro.html>

and tell us if that's not what you meant.

That's a good start, but the actual documents you need to do Bluetooth
program on iPhone are behind yet another membership/licensing wall at
http://developer.apple.com/ipod/

The documents on http://developer.apple.com/iPhone/ only cover the
External Accessory Framework, which you'll use once you've got a
Bluetooth connection with the previous documents.

Thanx David.

I did try now to get behind this wall. Perhaps they like my project.
They need up to five days to give me a response. I'm not sure if they
accept me, because I don't want to develop hardware.

I will post here if I get a response.

Florian

No response from Apple. It seem to be something like a
new American "Chinese Wall" or "Green Wall".
I really don't understand what they are doing with the IPhone.
Locking down the hole device for a SIM-Lock?
They proudly present 50.000+ apps for the IPhone but I guess only a dozen is
really useful. If you look at the API, it is clear why.
So what?

Florian

Unless you're a member of the iPhone developer programme you don't
have a copy of the iPhone documentation. That includes the
documentation for what can be done with the BlueTooth APIs. So if you
want to know what can be done, you have to pay your $99 (?) and become
a member. Nobody here is going to tell what's in it because when you
join you agree to anon-disclosure agreement.

Simon.

there is no need to pay $99 to get the sdk.
